Silverdale was formed in 1995 by damming one of the springs that feed the main lake, it is 2.5 metres deep in the middle and is used as a breeding pond for our Carp, the pond also has a good stock of Golden Rudd up to a lb and a few Tench. If easy fishing is what you are looking for then Silverdale should supply easy fishing with a dozen or so carp caught in a session. Recently some nice 3lb carp have been caught by the waterfall.
The Carp are rather partial to luncheon meat close to the bottom of the pond. Float fish with light tackle and real fun can be had.
The Golden Rudd are locally known as golden nuggets especially if caught in the sunshine. Fish for these with maggot and sweet corn with bread always working.
